You'd probably get something size wise in between your mare and the mini stud.

Yes you could, although the mare would have to be artificially inseminated as I doubt the little fella could reach...!

Chances are the foal would be small too.

Look up on how they bred POA's( pony of america) they crossed shetland ponies with appy mares. I have heard of mare laying down and letting mini's breed them, or people putting the mini (or shetland) in the back of a truck so he could reach.

Any two animals of the same species, regardless of relative size, can be reproduced via AI. Since they are both horses, their genetics are compatible.

yes, you could. Obviously, you couldn't do it naturally (how would the poor little guy get up there?) but they are the same species, so yes. It's been done. It cannot be done vice-versa though. The foal would be too large for the mother, and both would probably end up dying.

yes you can. it would look funny, but possible. i was talking with my trainer's son and i asked if it was possible to breed a shire with a shetland mare. he said it's possible, the foal would at first be small enough for the mare to give birth, but then it would probably grow a lot larger. so yes, believe it or not, that what you say is possible. and yeah, the foal would be healthy, if the mare was.

I am not sure you could do it by any way other than artificial insemination, but if you did the mare could have a healthy foal. If you get a foal the her are the probability odds of what type of horse you would get.

50 percent would be a cross between the mare and mini stud.

They would be a size in between a mini and a large horse.

25 percent would be mini

25 percent would be a full sized horse.

I think you could. I have heard of people doing it. I actually always wondered that too!  I also have a miniature stud which likes to TRY to breed my full size mare. I have heard of people building a ramp for the miniature to mount the mare. LOL
