Vice President Candidate's Daughter is Pregnant!?

Um, I want to know how she can have control of a country if John McCain dies (he is 72) if she couldn't even keep a good enuf eye on her daughter to keep her from becoming a teenage mother.

My read on this, and of course I'm just an amateur, is that Governor Palin is the star in that family. The governor's new baby was the center of attention over the past year. And the 17-year-old did what any neglected teen will do: look for love in all the wrong places. It is a wake-up call for Governor Palin about her priorities that Bristol is pregnant. You cannot have it all and be righteous about it. There is always a price to pay. I am so sad that the daughter had to pay the price. I will pray for her new baby always.

well i think McCain is a great candidate for president and if he dies i would rather have Palin take over even if her daughter is pregnant she can still handle her family can help her so its not really a problem.

Worse is that she thinks abstinence is the best way to prevent teen pregnancy.

Whether you vote R or D, it's pretty easy to admit that it's over for the GOP this year.  And not because there's anything wrong with her daughter.  Some teen girls get pregnant.  Nothing new.  Her mommy is famous now, so I'm sure they'll get the support they need.  It's over for the GOP because her daughter's situation reveals how retarded Palin's beliefs about s*x are.

Well...honestly, Sarah Palin can't control a teen's behavior but she could have given her daughter some good advice...like having the "right talk" with her daughter about birth control (condoms and the pill) and so on.  But, Sarah Palin's views are anti-contraception (not just anti-abortion).  So - again she want's to give adult women the same tired advice she gave to her daughter...wait until you're married to have s*x (which is unrealistic) or get pregnant.  Pregnancy isn't the issue - it's the health and wellbeing of her daughter that is...and my understanding is that this teenager is getting pushed into marriage...teen marriages have the highest divorce and abuse rates in the nation.  This is a really sad, sad story...Don't trust McCain/Palin to do you right in the future.

This shows, that she is real, she isn't some rich kid that has lived on top all of her life.

While I am sure you don't care, please remember that you probably had s*x before marriage and it could have been you just as easy.  Kids make mistakes and now as a family the Palin's will deal with there's.  Anybody who has had a child knows d**n well that you can't watch them 24/7 because they are smarter than any parent in the world and know everything.  If you didn't care you would not have put such an uninformed question out here.

I don't think she would be able to control the country. First of all, let me say that McCain is not going to win this election...the mere fact that he chose Palin as his VP shows how desparate he is. But in the event that he did, and he died, Palin would not be able to control the reins of government. Undoubtedly, since Republicans would be in the White House, it would be run by Bush, Karl Rove, and Cheney...all over again.
