Vicente Del Bosque is yet to say yes to Real Madrid tribute – La Liga News
Real Madrid have announced to pay a tribute to honour the achievements made by former head coach, Vicente Del Bosque. The ceremony is planned to take place on November 3, 2011.
However, Del Bosque is yet to say yes to the invitation he has received from his former club. Reports suggest that the Spaniard has not yet reached a decision on whether he will be attending the ceremony taking place in his honour or not.
Vicente Del Bosque managed Real Madrid for a time of around 4 years. He joined the club in the later part of 1999 and left the club in the summer of 2003, after he was not offered a contract renewal by the club. The fact that his contract was not renewed
was taken by surprise by football followers all over the world.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Del Bosque is arguably one of the best managers to manage the prestigious club in modern times. It was during his time as coach when Real Madrid were able to return to their former glory and became to be known as Los Galacticos.
He led Los Blancos to two Champions League triumphs and two La Liga titles. He was also able to win the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup.
Although the highlight of his time at Madrid is the two Champions League trophies that the club managed to win, Del Bosque also brought some of the most remarkable players in the world at that time to Santiago Bernabeu.
The likes of Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldo-c31734 were all signed by the Spanish giants in Del Bosque era.
It came as a shock to many when the Spanish mentor’s contract was not renewed at the end of the 2002/2003 season. According to reports, this decision was very hard for Del Bosque to deal with and thus his inability to decide whether he wants a tribute from
Real Madrid.
While talking to Cadena SER, the Spaniard said:
"I am still thinking about whether to attend or not. I don't want to say too much about it as everything you say can be misunderstood,"
"However, if they tell you you're useless and not worthy ... I don't recall everything that happened exactly, but my family and I had a hard time. I have to forgive everybody, but I also have my principles."
Currently Del Bosque is the head coach of the Spanish national team. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757, under him as manager.
It will be very interesting to see whether the 60-year-old mentor chooses to accept the tribute from a club that is believed to have mistreated him.
