Do they show up the same on a drug test?(urine)

  1. Well, this depends. First of all, Lortab and Vicodin are both name brands for Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen. In terms of whether or not these compounds will show up on a urinalysis, the short answer is yes. In the case of Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen, this drug is metabolized by enzymes in the liver and then elminated through the kidneys.

    This drug's half-life (the amount of time it takes for your body to compeltely eliminate half of the subtance) is approximately 4 hours. However, when Hydrocodone is metabolized several metabolites are created that can last for up to 2 weeks. Therefore, even if you have not taken hydrocodone within those 2 weeks, it may still appear on a urinalysis/blood test. This is the case mainly with blood tests, however, with qualitative urine tests only being able to detect the parent compound.
