Question:

Vicious rabbits?

I have 2 dwarf rabbits, and they're vicious little feckers.

Whenever i try pick them up to get them out of the hutch, they scrabble and bite me, and growl. (i know - growl)

One of them even stands on her hind legs and tries to hit you with her front paws, and there's no chance of catching her when she's out. and they attack my dog whenever he pokes his head in (not aggressively or anything)... My 30-something kilo dog... who's head is bigger than them...

Any solutions??? =S

  1. Getting them spayed will help A LOT. Female rabbits very territorial.

My bunny did this until I got her spayed. It calms them down a bit & also makes their tempermant a lot more easy going & helps clear them of some bad habits.

  2. I am sorry i do not have any solutions, it doesnt sound like your bunnehs haz bonded with you. (sorry i cant help but lolz speak when it comes to bunnehs)

I love it when they growl and hit with their front feet, it cracks me up and i say "ooooh, scarey bunneh."  I also really love it when the stomp at me.  Bunnehs.  :)

  3. If you get your rabbits spayed this will get rid of most/all of these behaviours.  Unspayed rabbits are extremely territorial and tend to be cage aggressive.  The growling and boxing (hitting with front feet) is their way of telling you to get out of *their* space.

In addition to reducing the aggressive behaviour spaying will also lead to healthier bunnies.  By spaying the rabbit you will remove the risk of uterine and ovarian cancers.  These cancers are extremely common in unspayed rabbits.

  5. GET THEM SPAYED. =)

Female rabbits are territoral and aggressive and this behaviour will calm once you've had them spayed.

  6. i had the same problem before >:( grr but then my uncle gave it away.My bunny would only calm down i i was giving her a shower or bath or as long as she was wet she would be sweetest little angel but when she was dry she would attack anything near her.Although i don't really know but if you have un neatured/sprayed bunnies  they might get vicious due to sexual frustrations.

  7. really, just let the bunnies in a small room for nowhere to hide. baricade yourself with them for 12+ hours. i found my rabbit and he HATED me. this helped. treating them like kids and smacking them on the face if they bite.
