Vicky Angga Saputra hammers Syaherdillah W. in Men’s Singles second round at Jakarta Open 2012
Indonesia’s upcoming shuttler Vicky Angga Saputra showed his inspiring skills when he toppled his country-mate Syaherdillah W. in Men’s Singles second round at the Djarum Sirnas Flypower Jakarta Open 2012 on Thursday, May 17, in Indonesia.
The spirited Vicky, who is top seed in the tournament, played flawless badminton against his lower ranked team-mate and won the battle in straight games without facing even a slight problem.
The top seed was on his prime form while playing against Syaherdillah and managed to thrash him in two sets by working for just 30 minutes in the court.
On the other hand, the un-seeded Syaherdillah failed to live up to expectations as he had no answer to the positive and aggressive play of his higher ranked compatriot and lost the match without showing a good show.
In the first game, Vicky did not waste any time in setting up a wonderful gap at an early stage.
He was impressive in his stroke selection and managed to take a remarkable advantage while remaining ahead on the board until the one-minute break.
After the break, Syaherdillah tried to play elevated game by gearing up his speed but failed to dominate the pace at net and remained struggling.
In the meanwhile, Vicky continued his power play without dropping his speed at any stage in the game and managed to win the first game with a tremendous 21-10 margin on the score board.
In the second game, the higher ranked Indonesian remained consistent in his positive play and managed to set up a comfortable lead.
He was everywhere in the court and executed powerful smashes to create pressure on his lower ranked challenger and took a stunning lead until the break.
After the interval, Vicky remained on track and continued his roller-coaster run without showing any respect to his opponent who could not cope up with the pace of the game.
The top seed finished off the second game in a sensational manner with a phenomenal margin of 21-9.
Vicky won this second-round encounter in two games by taking 30 minutes with a comprehensive margin of 21-10 and 21-9.
