Victor Crivoi, Norbert Gombos through to the main round – Morocco Tennis Tour 2012 CH

Victor Crivoi beats Alessio Di Mauro 6-3, 6-3
Fourth seed, Victor Crivoi of Romania, did not face much difficulty in routing fifth seed, Alessio Di Mauro of Italy, in twin sets 6-3, 6-3 in the final qualifier at the Morocco Tennis Tour in Marrakech on Sunday.
It took the Romanian just an hour and six minutes to beat Di Mauro in a one-sided match.
Crivoi was under pressure in the very first game, as he went down 15-40 on his own serve but succeeded in saving both break threats to take a 1-0 lead. The Romanian lost just three points in the next two games, extending his advantage
to 3-0. Crivoi remained in front till the end, claiming the opener 6-3.
The Italian made an even better start in the second set, snatching two breaks in the first four games to attain a 4-0 advantage. Mauro got one back in the eighth but lost his serve again in the next game to drop it 3-6.
Ranked 256th in the world, Crivoi pounded three aces and captured 24 of the 28 first serve points. The Italian converted all the four break chances he got in the match.
The 29-year-old will meet Bastian Knittel of Germany in the first round of the main draw.
Norbert Gombos defeats Walter Trusendi 6-4, 6-2
World number 405, Norbert Gombos of Slovakia, ousted Walter Trusendi of Italy in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 to book his place in the main draw.
Trusendi drew the first blood, securing a break in the second game to build a 2-0 lead. However, Gombos won four games in a row after that, moving ahead 4-2. The Slovakian served out the set at 5-4.
Gombos had problem with his second serve in the earlier part of the opener, committing five double faults. However, he got it right in the later part and clinched eight of the 16 points on them. Both players banged in three aces
in the first set.
Trusendi and Gombos went neck to neck in the first four games to even out the score at 2-2. There was not stoppage to the Slovakian after that, as he did not lose even a single game and sealed the set 6-2.
Gombos avoided two of the three break risks he faced and utilised three of the five chances he received. The Slovakian took two hours to beat Trusendi.
He is drawn to take on Daniel Munoz-De La Nava in the first match of the main round.
