Victor Croatian International: Natalia Perminova wraps up Women’s Singles title in style
Russia’s upcoming player Natalia Perminova made her presence strongly felt as she put up staggering performance and wrapped up Women’s Singles title at the Victor Croatian International 2013 on Sunday, April 14, in Croatia.
In the final encounter of the championship, the Russian lady proved her mettle on court and easily outplayed Denmark’s Sandra Maria Jensen in a crushing manner.
The spirited Natalia, who was the top seed in Women’s Singles main round of the tournament, played to her maximum potential and remained successful in winding up the final encounter in straight sets with a completely commanding margin of 21-14 and 21-15.
Meanwhile, the sixth seeded Sandra Maria could not maintain her aggressive run in the final match. She tried to play positive badminton but failed to get desired results and eventually bowed down in straight sets without getting close on the board.
Natalia performed extremely well from the starting rallies of first game as she played with remarkable speed and took over the control of the game.
The hard-to-learn variations in Natalia’s strokes helped her to occupy the driving seat from the initial points and she continued her domination against her challenger in the arena.
Until the end of first part of first set, the in-form Natalia attained a strong position on board by setting up a sufficient gap as she did not let her challenger to close the gap.
Sandra Maria tried to put up strong resistance but could not take charge of the game and remained trailing in the ending half.
Natalia continued hitting powerful smashes in targeted areas and eventually took the opening game with a superb margin of 21-14.
The Russian lady did not lose her supremacy at any stage in the starting part of second set as she played with control and aggression.
The powerful smashes and wonderful net play kept Natalia ahead of her challenger all the way until the end of first half in second set.
In the ending part of second game, the impressive Natalia continued her smooth sailing and easily grabbed the second set by a stunning score of 21-15 and sealed a superb victory in just 29 minutes.
