Victor Larez could pitch for Detroit Tigers in 2013 – MLB Update
Right handed Victor Larez has been playing quite confidently in the Tigers’ Minor League affiliates that make him a probable new face in Detroit’s big league team. His performance impressed many in the Tigers’ front office as many now believe that he will
be making a good entrance into the biggest baseball league in the world.
Larez recently represented Tigers Minor League affiliates Class A Lakeland and performed wonderfully. He finished the season on a high note and showed his valour. He stood tall against all the opponents and impressed the entire Class A Lakeland roster. Striking
out total 59 batters, Larez only allowed two home runs in 68 innings along with maintaining 1.72 ERA in 35 appearances.
“He throws 92 to 94 (miles per hour), He's got a breaking ball, he's got a change-up. He's a great kid. He really works hard at it. The thing is, on a good day you'll see him be real good. Some other days, you'll go, 'What happened to that kid I just saw
that was real good?” said Tigers assistant general manager Al Avila.
Experts believe that the way Larez is playing in the Minors and the way he performed in the recent past season are quite impressive and in the coming days, the Tigers manager Jim Leyland will surely call him into the Majors.
Along with Victor Larez, the Tigers have other options as well. After the humiliation of 2012 Major League Baseball season, the Tigers have started thinking seriously about improving their offensive thrust.
Currently the Tigers surely have surplus of pitchers and feeling quite confident to play in the next big event in 2013. Their manager Jim Leyland is also looking quite optimistic to play a more thrilling season in 2013.
"That's OK, That doesn't hurt anything. Pitching is a commodity. A very valuable commodity," Leyland said.
The Tigers have two main pitchers Justin Verlander and Anibal Sanchez in their starting rotation. Both starters proved their valour and showed enormous power on the mound. Verlander finished the season achieving 2.64 ERA along with 17-8 win-loss while Sanchez
remained consistent on 3.86 ERA.
