Victor Nino wins at the 135 kilometre stage 6 of the Tour De Taiwan
Victor Nino Corredor of Azad University Cross Team succeeded during the sixth stage of the race to claim his first victory of the new season.
He finished the race in a fastest time of 3 hours, 10 minutes and 33 seconds and overcame his main rivals.
Yusuke Hatanaka of Japan National Team and Muhammad Adiq Othman of Champion System Pro Cycling Team finished at the second and the third positions in the respective order.
The 39-year-old was delighted after the stage win and briefed that the victory took him by surprise and it came at a point when he was least expecting it.
He noted, "This morning in my bed, I felt ill, I was so tired that I had no morale. I thought I wasn't going to start. Once I got on my bike”.
“I was better and then, I went to the front with 1km to go, where my teammates from Azad University had told me it would become hilly. I attacked with 700 metres to go because I had nothing to lose". He continued.
On the other hand, the first runner up Hatanaka regretted his delayed attack during the 135 kilometre stage. "I probably jumped 100m too late", he briefed.
Lee Rodgers of RTS Racing Team succeeded during the first and the second sprints of the race.
