Victor Ortiz declares he wants to fight Manny Pacquiao – Boxing news
The current World Boxing Council’s World Welterweight Champion Victor Ortiz has declared he wants to fight the eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation’s Welterweight World Champion, Manny Pacquiao.
The Vicious, Victor Ortiz, who is set to fight against the five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council’s Emeritus World Super Welterweight Champion, Floyd Mayweather, on September 17, 2011 for the World Boxing Council’s world title
at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, is fully confident of his win.
The unbeaten American pugilist, Mayweather, who has won all of his 41 fights including 25 by the way of a knockout, recently revealed after he gets done with Ortiz he will consider fighting Pacquiao, provided if Pacquiao agrees for the drug test.
However, Ortiz has claimed he is going to win the bout, as he said he will be the one fighting Pacquiao instead of Mayweather.
“I’ll be the one fighting Manny Pacquiao next year,” Ortiz said.
Ortiz, who is being considered as an underdog against Mayweather, told the media he does not care about what people say about him or where do they rate him. He stated he has earned himself a world title after doing all the hard work.
Ortiz added he is already fed up from all the criticism and this is a golden chance for him to zip everyone’s mouth.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I don’t care about that. I don’t pay attention to that. I am not one of those made champions. I didn’t get here by fighting tomato cans.”
“I’m not one of those guys who were fed with a spoon like that. I have a lot of slaps in my face (from critics). This is a great chance for me. I plan on being a world champion for 15 years. I didn’t work so hard for this opportunity to let it a slip away,”
said Ortiz.
Let’s see whether Victor Ortiz is really able to shock the world by beating the heavily favourite Floyd Mayweather or not.
