Victor Ortiz shocked after seeing Floyd Mayweather spending his money lavishly – Boxing news
The current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion, Victor Ortiz, is shocked after seeing the undefeated American legend Floyd Mayweather spending his money lavishly in Las Vegas’ clubs.
“Burning hundred dollar bills, that's a slap in the face for anyone,” Ortiz said.
Mayweather, who is a five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council Emeritus World Super Welterweight Champion, however claimed he was just doing it all to promote his mega fight. However, Ortiz is not convinced, as he reckons Mayweather’s
such ignorant behaviour towards his money will destroy him one day.
Ortiz, who has won 29 of his 33 professional fights (2 Draws), with 22 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, stated he is a lot younger than Floyd but he spends his money very carefully as he has grown up in poverty. Ortiz in the meanwhile also thinks
he can beat Mayweather.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Seeing something like that, that's made of ignorance. That just shows what may take place in his life in the next few years, especially after I destroy him. I am 24-years-old, but I've been through a whole lot more
than our good friend Floyd. If you're really that careless about money like that, who knows where the rest of your life is gonna take you?”
Victor Ortiz and Floyd Mayweather are set to take on each other in a much-anticipated fight on September 17, 2011 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Since the 34-year-old Mayweather, who holds a record of winning all of his 41 professional fights, with 25 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is making a comeback after almost 16 months, a lot of people would flock from different corners of the
world to see the fight.
However, all that is left to see is whether the Mexican-American pugilist Ortiz is able to make history by beating Mayweather or not.
