Victoria Azarenka loving her time and world number one rank – Tennis Special
World number one, Victoria Azarenka, is enjoying her time and loving to be the player that is ruling the world of tennis in the women’s category. She was questioned about her jolly nature and if it’s good for her image as she is
now the number one player in the world. She was stunned by the question and bluntly reported, “What's up with no joking? You think if you're No. 1 you have to be serious? It's personality. Players, kids in school, they have to show their own personality. They
shouldn't be afraid to show who they are. People will judge, people will say whatever they think, but I think it's important to show who you are. You're not afraid of what people say because it's just who you are.”
She is absolutely right with that. No one needs to change her lifestyle after reaching the top rank. It is difficult to cope with the media attention and photo shoots but that doesn’t mean that one should just revitalize her lifestyle
for something that is not immortal.
Azarenka has every right to live her life as she wants. She is not going to slow her grunts as well, which is another big talking point these days. The Australian Open final this year was also known as the ‘screamathon’, considering
that her fellow finalist, Maria Sharapova, also shrieks very loudly while playing each of her shots. It is something that you grow up with and it is beyond your control.
People complaining are the one enjoying it more than anyone. So, there is no point talking about it because they are brought up like that. Azarenka paired up with the former world number one, Caroline Wozniacki, to put up a karaoke
dance during the US Open tournament. So, it is something that is innate in her, she can’t resist joking around and having fun.
Her fiery backhand cross-court returns are also unplayable so she has all the right of enjoying her life until someone steps up to dethrone her.
Coming to her performances on court, this year has been terrific for the Belarusian tennis ace. She started off in Apia Sydney International and won that title after defeating the Chinese number one, Li Na, in a gruelling three-setter.
After that, the big tournament of the year, the Australian Open, and the Belarusian made her way to the grand finale of the tournament with victories over Agnieszka Radwanska and Kim Clijsters. She started off poorly in the finale
but suddenly picked up her game and bullied the Russian slender-legged beauty queen, Sharapova, in a one-sided encounter.
Winning two tournaments in a row is a massive achievement, especially if the maiden Grand Slam championship title is one of them. She went on to participate in the Qatar Total Open and won that title as well by defeating the Aussie
tennis ace, Samantha Stosur, in the final. It has been a world class performance from the Belarusian and her next aim is the title in Indian Wells. Let’s see if she has got enough to win fourth title on the trot.
