Victoria Elizabeth proves worth, eyes 2013 LPGA season
American Victoria Elizabeth is one of the ten Symetra Tour players who made it to the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) for the 2013 season.
Elizabeth has been a rising star on the Symetra Tour. She started her rookie season in 2009, but the 2012 season proved a game changer for her as she is now able to fulfil her biggest dream:
playing on the LPGA Tour.
Playing on the 2013 LPGA will surely help her gain global exposure right from the start as the Tour is known for tougher competitions and big names like South Korean Inbee Park and Stacy Lewis
of the United States.
Unlike past seasons on the Symetra season, which have seen one or two contenders differentiate themselves from the rest of the lineup, the 2012 season was different. The season has shown that
those who displayed outstanding performances, did not come forward with mere luck, rather they possessed a solid track record.
Some contenders are experienced, while others are newcomers to women’s golf. Most of contenders are equally deserving for the LPGA exposure, but the ones in the top ten grabbed the opportunity
this year.
Like Elizabeth, American Esther Choe has also been a talented golfer since the start of her golfing career. Choe topped the money list this year, winning an eye-popping $55,690.00 to become
the number one contender on the Symetra Tour.
Elizabeth took the third spot as she earned a total earning of $46,565.00 in the season.
The American star displayed a stunning performance in most of the tournaments in the season, but the Credit Union Classic saw her in best shape. She won the tournament in impressive style,
pocketing $15,000.
My Marsh Golf Classic was also the scene of a nerve-racking battle. She came close to winning the event, but was hampered in the final moment and had to settle for the second position. The
finish earned her $9,249.
Elizabeth proved her mettle once again as she finished tied for the second position at the Island Resort Championship, wining $7,834.
Her last event of the 2012 season—Daytona Beach Invitational—saw her perform well. Although she could not clinch a victory despite being stronger than most of the rivals, finishing tied for
the seventh position was enough.
During her interview at the end of the first round that saw her post a 3-under, she had said that she was happy with her performance and the coming months will prove tougher. Confident of
her making it to the LPGA Tour, she said that is more than thrilled to have found this opportunity.
