Victoria Rose to over ride the competition in the Betfred “The Bonus King” Novices’ Handicap Chase at Uttoxeter
The Class 3 Betfred “The Bonus King” Novices’ Handicap Chase is to be hosted by Uttoxeter over three miles on Saturday, 17th March. The £6, 256 purse race has persuaded nine runners to compete today.
The lineup is talented and versatile in a way that majority of them have already struck their seasonal debuts but then there are also some who have failed quite miserably in their next attempt. Either ways it is a double edged sword as those who have won
would want to extend the streak while those who missed would want to get back the control of their footings.
The most lethal on the lineup is Victoria Rose, Old Vic’s seven-year-old bay mare out of mare West Hill Rose, as it is not only that she struck her seasonal debut but that too was at Uttoxeter and this she achieved after shoving the favourite of the race
into the runner up’s slot.
She won the E.B.F./TBA Mares’ Novices’ Chase on 28th January at Uttoxeter over two miles and six and a half furlong. While riding with Liam Treadwell, Victoria Rose was in lead of the track of six by nineteen lengths.
Araucaria stationed as the 13/8 favourite runner up of the race and was soon followed by Lights Of Broadway.
The distance this time is longer but her exposure to the track that also coupled with a victory makes her the most reliable entry for capturing the race today.
However, the lineup is not the sort that will make it an effortless trip for the seven-year-old and the two to look out for specifically are Glens Boy and Bruslini. Both the entries are threatening because they have recently bagged in victories and are yearning
for more.
Eight-year-old Glens Boy won the Oakley Coachbuilders Handicap Chase (For The Harwell Trophy) on 18th January at Newbury over three miles. It was a difficult victory as the runner up was only at a neck’s margin when Glens Boy made it through the
wire.
On the other hand, the seven-year-old Bruslini lethally took over the Dine And View At Catterick Races Beginners’ Chase on 28th February at Catterick over three miles and one and a half furlong.
Which of the three will be able to post the second victory through the second start, will get sorted out soon?
