Question:

Victoria Woody Skimboard for beginner?

I am a first-timer at skimboarding and I was thinking about getting a victoria woody (I'm 5'11" 140 lbs). I've read somewhere on yahoo asnwers that it doesn't go very fast. I would liek to get a fiberglass one, but that's a little out of my price range (up to $500 for a zap). Unless someone can recommend a cheap fiberglass (under $150), can anyone tell me how the victoria woody performs? I'm not saying it has to zoom along the beach at 80mph, but if it's slow and unwieldy, i'd rather look for something else. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  1. Yeah, you're not heavy or anything, but if you're 140 pounds, I wouldn't recommend a wodden board. It will most definitely go slowly and not be worth your while. Fiberglass is the right choice. If you would like to stick to skimming, and want to spend about $200, get the Zap Pro, which is really good. Some other good boards are the Victoria Foamie and some small-brand fiberglass boards. Try http://www.skimcity.com/store/search.php... and look through all of thos boards. Good luck out on the beach and I hope I helped!!
