Victoria v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Australia-c844 – Ryobi One-Day Cup, 2012/13 (13th match) – Match Update – Redbacks secure 4-wicket win
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Putland-c1468 continued in fine form for South Australia, and his four-wicket haul played a crucial role in the Redbacks’ 4-wicket victory over the Victoria Bushrangers, in the 13th match of the ongoing Ryobi One-Day Cup, played at the Melbourne
Cricket Ground on November 28.
Victoria won the toss and chose to bat first, but Player of the Match Putland (12-3-44-4), aided by skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jake-Haberfield-c1629 (both of whom managed to pick up one scalp each), succeeded in keeping their opponents
in check.
The Bushrangers’ opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glenn-Maxwell-c60189 (20) joined forces
for a 51-run stand for the second wicket, but Maxwell fell prey to Haberfield in the 15th over.
His successor http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380 followed him back to the pavilion in the very next over, dismissed by Botha after a mere 1-run contribution. The Redbacks’ skipper then proceeded to dislodge Finch, and by the 20th over, Victoria were at 98 for 4.
Wicketkeeper batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Alex-Keath-c986 (28) enabled his team to pass the 200-run mark.
White and Keath were both sent packing by Putland, and by the time Handscomb made his exit, also at the hands of Putland, he had managed to get the Bushrangers up to 221. Some minor contributions from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jayde-Matthew-Herrick-c66694 (13*), and Scott
Boland (7*) enabled Victoria to post a final total of 241 by the end of 50 overs, at the expense of 8 wickets.
The Bushrangers’ Boland (11-0-63-5) and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Phillip-Hughes-c2185 (73), both of whom teamed up for a 164-run
partnership.
Both were dismissed in successive overs – Klinger trapped lbw by Boland, and Hughes dismissed by Pattinson – and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Daniel-Christian-c1308 (1) followed soon afterwards, having failed to contribute much. However, some minor contributions from
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tim-Ludeman-c2672 (26*), got the Redbacks comfortably up to 246, with 4 wickets and 22 balls remaining.
