Vidarbha v Delhi - http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kumar-Shri-Ranjitsinhji-c71870 Trophy - Group B - Day 4 – Live Score and Update
Delhi 523 v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vidarbha-c860 257 and 216 - Match drawn
It was a disappointing day for Delhi, as after they had piled a mammoth score of 523 in their first innings, they never really needed to bat again and could have taken the match by bowling-out Vidarbha twice at Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Nagpur.
They made a strong impact while bowling at their opponents in the first innings, as Vidarbha faltered with 257 runs on the board, failing miserably against the massive first innings score posted by their rivals.
They ended the third day of play with a run on the board without any loss in their second innings.
Delhi were the obvious favourites, as there was a mighty chance for their triumph today.
The bowlers struck early when Vidarbha had posted only four runs on the board, as opener SS Das was caught behind with only a run off his bat.
The second-wicket partnership between FY Fazal and AV Ubarhande was least intimidating, as it faltered after taking the score to 26 runs on the wicket of AV Ubarhande, who was caught with four runs to his name.
Next to go was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Fazal-c56914, who after hammering 21 runs, was dismissed by Vikas Mishra with his side on 48 runs.
This was a subtle start by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780, and it seemed like victory was theirs for the taking. Nevertheless, the meritorious fourth-wicket stand between SU Shrivastava and HK Badani was just what the doctor ordered, as it took the score to 107, before Badani was
dismissed by Sanhttp://www.senore.com/Cricket/David-John-Goodchild-c52940wan after smashing a brilliant 26-run knock.
With Shrivastava slaughtering the bowlers from his end, G http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Upadhyaya-c94643 joined the party as the two batsmen challenged the bowlers by playing some nerve-racking shots all over the place.
Delhi were now losing time and they needed to make a strong comeback in order to save the match.
Finally, with 184 runs on the board, G Upadhyaya lost his wicket after smashing a commendable knock of 47 runs.
SV Bahutule was disappointing as he hit the showers without opening his account.
This wicket was then followed by the demise of SB Wagh (4) with Vidarbha on 199.
Later, the day ended after Vidarbha had piled 216 runs on the board with Shrivastava unbeaten on 80 and AG Jungade on five.
