My group has a presentation to do and we have no idea how to burn it onto a dvd (my computer has a dvd burner). Is there software i can download online (preferably free) or other steps? Also is there a way to edit the video. I dont have the CD that came with the video camera but I have the USB cord that connects to the computer and that works. THANKS!

  1. You can edit your video with Windows Movie Maker, which should be on you PC already, and burn a DVD with DVD Flick.

  2. Most computers come with a free video editor.  Windows has Windows Movie Maker, and I believe recent Macs have something called iMovie.  I haven't personally used iMovie, but Movie Maker allows you to "capture" video off your camera and import it into the program for editing.  I am sure iMovie allows for capturing as well.

Once you're done editing, these programs should also have a feature that will allow you to burn your files to DVD.  They are basic programs that are easy for consumers to understand, so you should find a button that says something like "Burn to DVD" or "Export to DVD" fairly easily.

    I hope this helps!

  3. I would check with the manufacturers support site for your camcorder. They may have a free download for the software you are looking for. Since you did not specify the make and model of your camcorder you may need firewire to transfer the video to edit. As far as software, try the trial version of NERO.
