Do I need any applications if i am going to transfer the video to my pc?

  1. Just be aware that you might need FireWire to transfer (on MiniDV camcorders as well as others).


  2. Yes, you do, but what sort of camcorder have you got and what do you want to do with the video once it's there?

    Most, if not all the apps you need are free and may already be on your PC (e.g. Windows Movie Maker) but there's a lot of possibilities.
