Question:

Video Capture De-interlacing advice?

Okay, so I just bought this cool (but cheap) little video capture device called the EasyCap USB 2.0.

It came w/ Ulead Video Studio 10.

I've been able to capture video no problem, but the input is RCA, so I get really annoying scan lines (I bought this to record my xbox 360 moments). Does anyone know how to get rid of the scan lines?

Any advice is most welcome. Thanks.

  1. It's more than likely the low resolution of the composite (RCA) input that makes the scan lines so visable. Increasing the resolution of the input by using S-video or Component (RGB) will help.

That of course means investing in a more expensive capture device that offers such ports. If it's still new and you're willing to make the investment, returning your capture device for one with S-video or Component is your best bet (assuming the xbox 360 has those types of outputs).

  2. What is plugged into the capture device?  Your camcorder? or the Xbox?
