I have a few questions regarding video cards and motherboards.

1) If you buy a Nvidia motherboard (in my case the 790i Ultra can you put in two ATI graphics cards and run them in unison? (Like XFire and SLI)

2) What is the best case to fit the new giant video cards in?

  1. nvidia works with geforce and intel the best

ati works with amd the best

don't mix and match. ati cards go with ati boards

and nvidia cards go with nvidia boards

same with cpu's the intel works best with nvidia

and the amd cpu's work best with ati.

get the antec 900 for gaming.

www.newegg.com has hundreds of cases to choose from, make sure you get a solid steel case.

  2. No. If you want to run 2 ATI cards you use a Crossfire board. not an SLI board. You need a decent case to run 2 video cards and get adaquate cooling. I suggest this case which is one of the most popular gaming cases:

I was gonna run 2 9800GTXs on a 790i board but didn't like reading about the probs the 790i boards were having. Then the ATI cards came out so I put 2 4870s in Crossfire on an Asus X48 board. Plays everything, even Crysis, maxed out. I suggest that, if you haven't bought your board yet, you consider that avenue:

Note: If you plan on using 2 4870s in CF only use an X38 or X48 board because they are the only Intel boards that run both graphics slots at full-blown X16,  and you need that to handle the massive bandwidth of the 4870s DDR5 memory.

(Confirmed by ATI when I asked them about it before my build)
