THIS IS FOR MY GROUP PROJECT DUE TOMMOROW!

One of my partners said this:

It's not gonna work no matter what computer you use.

Cause the recording format I picked can't be edited.

Cause I chose "Video" instead of "VR". If I chose "VR"

then we could have edited it; no problem. But I picked

the wrong one.

HELP IS THERE A WAY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM QUICK?

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

  1. Ive been doing this video work stuff for a while now and have never heard the term "VR"....

Most cameras like the mini DVs will have a firewire connection.

Capture directly into your editing program...(ex. Adobe Premiere, Avid Xpress, Final Cut Pro, Windows Movie Maker) and edit from there.

Firewire allows you to control the cameras and capture.

  2. Chose Video instead of "VR" ??  That doesn't make sense..

What do you mean by video and what is VR?

I'm familiar with video editing, but when choosing output formats, it's more like  MPEG, AVI, MOV,

And when burning to disc, you usually have the choice of Video CD (crappy quality) or DVD.

No quick way to fix this without a lot more details,  and what software your partner was using?

  3. Do you have Adobe elements? ulead video editor?

what program were you goin to use?

what video editor programs do you have?

you might be able to edit using the camera itself depending if it has the feature in doing editting

thought about it, you can take a firewire cable from your camera and upload the video from your camera to your computer

adobe elements can be a converter but its more of a video editor, afer your done loading the video stuff on it and finish editting, you can export in any format you want

Did you try the fire wire idea? or been able to get it on your computer?

  4. OK, you're making life difficult for yourself, but not impossible!  Get hold of DVDDecrypter and Super.  If you haven't already done so, finalise the disk in the camcorder and then use DVDDecrypter to rip the mini-DVD on your PC.  You'll end up with a number of files, including some with the extension .vob.  Drag those .vob files, in numerical order, into Super and convert them to the highest quality WMV format.  You can then use Windows Movie Maker to edit them.

If you need to create a DVD to show your project, get hold of DVD Flick.
