I have 3 JVC Everio GZ-HD7 cameras and I was thinking of doing live shows on my website. My question is, what are the requirements for a video mixer?? The Cameras have Firewire/S-Video/Component/RCA/HDMI. The Mixer Im looking at has all except HDMI. Does the camera have to be a special "broadcast" only camera or something or as long as it has the outputs and the mixer has the right inputs can it be done?? Thanks!!!

  1. What u have is quiet enough.

If ur mixer does not have hdmi i/p it means it does not support it.

U can use the other type of connections to send the video to the

    mixer.

  2. the camera feeds have to be synchronous. it is possible to get a mixer that has this timing function built in, such as the Panasonic WJMX-50 or 70. If you use a mixer with no internal sync, then the cameras have to have a genlock input. since camcorders are not by definition studio cameras, they do not have genlock input.  The mixer is for analog video, so it will be 480 line standard definition only (that is why they don't have HDMI). If you feed 16:9, it will pass as anamorphic video (the aspect ratio will have to be corrected by the display device).
