what does these jobs do and what work come in them? does it make a lot of money, is it fun to do it?

Subjects like those give you "transferable skills" rather than set you up for a media related job.

the money part depends on how good you are and if you get the job, if your working for Universal or something like that it probably pays pretty well, if you work for joes video hut in some small town, probably not.

and the fun part is relative to what you consider fun, i consider fun so its fun for me, but maybe not for you. and some projects are more fun than others.  shooting the next indiana jones film might be more fun that shooting  a commercial for bobs bait shop,
