Question:

Video and audio driver issues

Hello,

I am trying to repair a computer for a friend. The operation system was corrupt. I installed a new copy of XP. That worked fine. But, both the Audio and Video drivers are not right, alternatingly being listed as having problems, or not even being there, depending on where you look. I have tried installing the hyperion chipset package, nothing. It is integrated audio video. When I search it on google, I get lots of hits, but when I go to a sght, they don't seem to actually just have these drivers. I cannot find out any more about it, don't know other than the PM800 motherboard what I have, don't know if the chipset I need is a CT series, or what, and my system says it can't find the info, and the board does not say anymore, and of course the video/audio port/chips are generic. The generic VGA for windows, seems to work, but it is jerky and also says it is not installed. yet I CAN see what I am doing on the monitor. I am pulling my hair out getting the run around and have made no progress in many hours. :(
