I want to transfer footage from video camera to my pc. What kind of cord I should use? If you know it, could you tell me the specific cord name? Thanks

  1. You have not provided enough information.

    If the camcorder is:

** MiniDV tape based, use a firewire (IEEE1394a) cable connecting the DV port of the camcorder to the firewire port of your camcorder. USB will not work (used only for transferring stills from memory card and sometimes for web streaming).

** Hard drive or flash memory based, use a USB cable to copy the files.

** DVD based, no cable needed - rip the DVD using a drawer loading optical DVD drive in (or connected to) your computer.

** None of these (or if DVD based and you have only a slot loading DVD optical drive), you will need to use the AV cable that came with the camcorder and get an analog/digital bridge. For USB, use Pinnacle:

    for Firewire, use Canopus:
