I have an antique video camera from the 1950s, in great condition. It comes with its own case, an instruction manual, and film, all also from the 50s. How much could I sell it for on eBay or somewhere else?

  1. a video camera from the 50's would require 4 people to carry. the accompanying quadraplex videotape machine weighed a half ton and was carried in a truck, along with its 220 volt generator and air compressor.

what you have is surely a motion picture camera. check the instructions to see what the film type is.  both 8mm and 16mm were popular in the hand carry size. Kodak makes and processes most types of motion picture film, so it could still be useful.

  2. Well for one it's most likely not a video camera :)

If anything it's probity a Super 8 film camera, witch is seeing some resurgence in amateur film circles.

If your camera is in good condition and has all the original parts you could get about $40+, And your Super 8 is one of the prosumer models and includes many manual controls, you could get around $100+

  3. Super 8 wasn't introduced until the mid 60s, so it's probably 8mm.  It may be worth something to a collector or 8mm hobbyist, but you'd need to be very specific about the model, year, condition etc.
