  1. That is a good question, and luckily, the answer is YES! The Sony TRV25 is a miniDV camcorder, therefore all you need is something called a FIREWIRE cable, sometimes called iLink. You can buy this pretty much anywhere for around $20. Circuit City, Best Buy, or anywhere that sells tech stuff. Then plug the cable into the firewire port into your camcorder (on mine it is marked with a large "i" for iLink. Then connect the other end of the cable to the back of your computer. However, take caution make sure the camcorder is turned off when you first plug it in or it will short out the camera- which is Bad! The computer does not need to be off though. Next, turn your camcorder on "VCR" mode. After a few seconds, the computer should recognize it and allow you to capture your footage with an editing software program (Windows Movie Maker and iMovie come with your computer, but I really like Ulead Movie Factory because it is easy to burn to DVD, and if you want to be professional, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro (for Macs only) and Avid Media Composer are excellent programs used by large film studios- they are expensive though.) Hope that helps!

  2. yes there all you need to do is go pick up a dv cable

  3. The DCR-TRV25 is a MiniDV camcorder - the USB port is just for transferring stills.  The video is captured via firewire -if your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card.  They're cheap, easy to install and readily available.  You'll need a firewire cable as well if there wasn't one with the camcorder.
