Question

I need to know a free video conversion program

that could convert from anything to either .mov or .mpg .

i already went on downloads.com , none of those works perfectly.

so if you know any, juhs let me know . kthanks.

There really isn't a single program that can convert "everything" to either a .mov or a .mpg.

Can you be more specific?  What kinds of files are you trying to convert?  Which do you want to convert them to... Quicktime MOV, or the streaming based MPEG?  What is the end result you are after... making DVDs of movies you find on the internet?

For example, a complex but worthwhile process for converting AVI fils to DVD compliant MPG, involves several programs.  You would start with VideoDubMod, and separate the audio from the video into two separate files.  You would then convert the video to MPG with TMPGEnc.  You would then use BeLight (a front for BeSweet) to convert the audio to AC3.  You would then use a program like MPEG VCR to multiplex the video only MPG and the audio only AC3 back together, and you would have a great quality MPG that would drop right into any DVD authoring program without any conversion.

I know, you want something easier.  Well... what do you want to do?
