Video converter. hi i have got a samsung sgh-e740 phone but it wont let me copy videos to it

hi i have got a samsung sgh-e740 phone but it wont let me copy videos to it because it says that it is the wrong file type so what should i change the file into ; media player, itunes, quiktime or another please please please help thanks :)
