Video format problem - hitachi problem?

Hi, i have been trying to upload both pictures and videos onto my computer. i have succesfully uploaded the pictures (very easily) but im have a huge problem with the videos. yes they are on the computer but i have no program that can open them, ive tried windows media player, itunes, quicktime, real player....and it seems nothing works. any idea what format i should be using? the camera is Hitachi DZ-MV1000E if that helps....

You need to rip the DVD as you would a CD with a DVD ripping software such as DVDDecrypter. If you still have the manual, reread it. If not, pay a visit to the Hitachi support site for your camera and see if you can find the answer there.
