Video from video camera onto pc?

HELP! we're trying to do our media production NOW!! we've left it too late and we really need help getting the footage we shot off our video camera (JVC GR-DVL200EK) and we have tried countless cables to try and get it onto windows movie maker! please help us!!

  1. yeah so you need a firewire cable, your computer probably has a port already, but if not you need to buy a cardbus. then you connect it to the cameras  port, then you open movie maker and it will recognize it


  2. Are you sure about that model number?  I could only find one mention of anything like it, but that implied you need to capture your video with firewire.

    OK, the GR-DVL200 is a MinDV camcorder so you need firewire.  If your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card.  They're cheap, easy to install and readily available.  Of course you'll also need a firewire cable.
