Video importing software?

i need a program for mac that i can import my video from my dv camcorder on, NOT IMOVIE, either really cheap or free would be best thank you

iMovie would be the obvious choice- it's difficult to suggest an alternative without knowing what's wrong with it.

What kind of camcorder are you using and why is iMovie not good? Your next step up is FinalCut Express.
