I have a video camera that has a tape that you can take in and out and I have it connected to my computer trying to put the video on my computer to put it on a dvd but how do i get the vidoe on my comp?

  1. Us a firewire cabe that goes from the DV port of the camcorder to the firewire port of your computer. Do not use USB.

    If your computer does not have a firewire port, they are cheap and easy to install if you have an available PCI slot (desktop) or PCMCIA slot (laptop). Macintosh computers have had firewire400 ports for many years.

    No, USB will not work.

    You will use WinDV or Moviemaker in Windows to import - or iMovie in Macintosh to import miniDV video...

    If you are using a different tape camcorder, let us know - they have different methods of transfer.
