Video projection

When I connect a video projector to my sony vaio FZ-280E the movie becomes white, I can hear the soundtrack but there is no image. When I unplug the projector everything goes right. I can not project the movie. It happened with powerpoint, picasa, and windows media player. The projector is a Sony VPL550.
