The Red Devils’ skipper believes that the Northern Irishman has a done a terrific http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at the back for the last couple of games and also gave an update on when he would be back on the pitch.
Manchester United boast perhaps the most formidable defensive partnership in club football.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 and Rio Ferdinand’s telepathic understanding on the field has been one of the main reasons behind Fergie’s success in recent years and although the duo are edging closer to the conclusion of their careers, they remain integral part of the Old
Trafford setup for now.
Vidic, though, hasn’t been able to play a major role in his side’s victories this season, after damaging his knee ligaments in the UEFA Champions League last October.
The Serbian has instead been on the sidelines since then and in his absence, United have found an unlikely hero in Johnny Evans, whose performances in the last few matches has gathered praise from many.
Evans, who has been ridiculed in the past by fans for his lamentable displays, has surely stepped up to the plate at the right moment and Vidic feels that he deserves a pat on the back for a job well done.
“Jonny has been playing really well in the last few games. It’s good for the team to have stability at the back and is the way to win the title,” the 30-year-old commented.
“I think they [United's young defenders] are doing very well. If you look at their age and the expectation we have from them, it wasn’t that high, but they turned out to be important players for the team.”
He also revealed that he had been working hard to make a return in the summer and had been spending a lot of time in the gym, as he was unable to do any footballing related drills.
“It’s going well. Obviously, the projection was I would be ready for the next season. I’m on schedule and hopefully will start training again in July. I’m working in the gym, mainly. Much of the stuff I’m doing in the gym I don’t look forward to, but it
benefits me,” the captain said.
United have missed Vidic’s leadership abilities at the back but have done well without the presence of the defender and are currently 1st   in the English Premier League standings after ousting Manchester City from the top spot.
