Manchester United’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550 has admitted that he is relishing the thoughts of having to compete for his spot in the Red Devils team.
Following a rather serious injury, Vidic was ruled out of action for almost a year. However, the player’s recovery is now on track and he is set to be back for the team, this coming season.
With the defender having been missing from the team, the likes of Chris Smalling and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jones-c29903 have made a claim in the team’s starting eleven.
However, instead of being threatened by the duo, Vidic has admitted that he is looking forward to competing with them, as he looks to secure his spot in the team’s starting eleven once again.
When talking about his completion, Vidic is reported to have said: "Jonny [Evans] has had a great year. I think http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 [Smalling] as well, before he got injured, is looking for that position as central defender"
"Rio [Ferdinand] is fit after a long time and was fit for so many games so we now have really big competition next year.”
"I don't mind that. I don't think any player minds that. It makes you train harder, play better and obviously we have so many games during the season that we need good players."
Vidic strongly feels that his team performed rather well this season and despite the team failing to win the league title, they would take something from their current campaign.
The defender then went on to add: "We cannot say we did well because we didn't win a trophy obviously"
"But we have to remember a few players left, a few young players had to get used to playing every week for a club like Manchester United and we always have high expectations."
Once Vidic is back to full fitness, United will have a back line that is operating at a maximum and this would avoid the team from making a number of foolish mistakes at the back and prevent them from conceding a number of goals.
As a result, the team could potentially go on and win the league this coming term, with Vidic back in the squad.
