http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Vieira-c29316 has gone on to claim that the referees are out to get Manchester City and that they don’t want to see them lift the Premier League crown at the end of the season.
The former French international, when talking about just how the referees had been looking to find ways to dampen City’s chances of progressing, highlighted the bans to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937.
He feels both the players were highly unlucky to be banned and had they been playing for any other team, they would have gotten away without any repercussions.
Vieira is quoted to have said: “It felt like that anything that City will do will be amplified and we get punished, compared to the other teams and the other players.”
“I don’t want to think about it because I don’t want to say everyone is against City or anything like that.
“But when you look at the last few decisions, you are asking yourself if something is wrong here, if people don’t want us to win the league.”
He then went on to compare some of the other challenges that players from other clubs had made, as he feels that other teams players were getting away with actions, which would have seen City players get banned.
He continued: “Lampard’s tackle looked dangerous compared to Vincent’s. Crouch, when he put his finger in the eye of another player, looked bad as well.”
In the end, Vieira admitted that perhaps there was some sort of confusion floating about, when it came to handing out bans and suspensions. At the same time, he also insisted that this confusion had a very negative impact on City’s performances.
“It’s difficult to understand some decisions compared to the decisions we had. I think this is what brings the confusion. The confusion is dangerous for our game.”
A number of City players have been banned rather unjustly this season, but so have players from other teams.
It is easy to understand just where Vieira is coming from, but at this point in the season, almost every team feels that their players are being treated unjustly, when compared to other clubs.
