http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 have been facing a poor run of form in La Liga and they are currently on the 14th position after losing 1-0 away to derby rivals, Levante, on Sunday.
It is this early poor start to the season that is worrying Los Che’s forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-c18993 Viera, as he believes that it is the club’s fault and they need to reenergize.
“You have to look inward, be self critical and train harder,” Viera told AS. “But remain quiet, because there is a lot of the season left.”
He also pointed out that Valencia did not start the season as everyone expected and their loss to derby rivals, Levante, on Sunday has affected the morale of the team.
Regardless, he stressed on the importance of working harder and getting back on track.
“It is normal that after a loss the team are not mentally well, but the season has just begun. We have not started as every one wanted, but more work is needed.”
What is more worrying for Valencia is the fact that even though they have taken a slow start to the season, teams such as Malaga and Atletico are currently on a good run.
Los Che have to immediately improve their performances on the pitch if they want to qualify for the Champions League next year.
“It's true that our rivals are on a good run, but there is much time to fix things. Once we get on a winning streak we'll be with them.” Viera admitted.
Fellow striker, Soldado, is also experiencing some kind of goal drought and Viera thinks that it will just be a matter of time before Soldado starts scoring again and end his recent lack of goals for the team.
“I know that soon he will score goals, he's one of the best strikers out there.”
In their next La Liga match Valencia will host Athletic Bilbao at Estadio Mestalla and the Basque-based outfit are also under pressure at the moment.
