Vietnam International Challenge 2012: Belaetrix Manuputi strolls into Women’s Singles second round
Indonesia’s talented player Belaetrix Manuputi did not face any problem in reaching into Women’s Singles second round as she registered an easy victory over Malaysia’s Yin Fun Lim in first round of Ciputra Hanoi Vietnam International Challenge 2012 in Vietnam,
on Wednesday, March 28.
Belaetrix, fourth seed in Women’s Singles draw of the event, showed her elevated run as she played with superb precision and easily thrashed her Malaysian rival in straight games.
On the other hand, Yin Fun could not live up to expectations as she had no answer to the perfect play of her higher ranked Indonesian challenger and lost the match in just 23 minutes.
Right from the initial stage in first set, Belaetrix maintained an upper hand over her lower ranked rival and remained successful in getting a strong position as she set up an early lead.
In the meanwhile, Yin Fun tried to play competitive badminton but failed to cope up with the fast pace of rallies. She remained struggling in the opening half of first set.
Until the one-minute break, Belaetrix was leading the game with a wonderful margin on the score board.
After the break, the higher ranked Indonesian continued her positive and dominating run in the game and did not face any resistance from her Malaysian rival in the entire concluding part.
Belaetrix remained on track and got advantage in the match by winning the first set with an impressive 21-14 score on the board.
In the second set, Yin Fun showed her brilliance by playing positive badminton this time and remained close to her higher ranked opponent. She did not let the Indonesian to take an early lead.
However, Belaetrix managed a reasonable gap in the second game until the 60-second break.
After the interval, the fourth seeded Indonesian geared up her speed and managed to extend her lead while remaining positive in the court.
She did not play negative shots and remained fully focused which helped her to take the second set with a convincing 21-15 score on the board.
Belaetrix won this Women’s Singles first-round encounter in straight games with an inspiring margin of 21-14 and 21-15.
