Vietnam Martial Art ( Vovinam )?

Question

Lately I'm interested in knowing more about this Vietnamese martial art with the name "Vovinam". This martial art is getting popular in Europe. Do you where, who, or when was it founded? Maybe the genius Dan can help me lol. Thanks.

Vovinam was founded by Nguyễn Lộc.as Việt Võ Đạo. This generally translates to Vietnamese martial arts way of nature, which pretty well describes this form of martial arts as a balance of physical self-defense and personal development. In other words, Việt Võ Đạo is not just kicking someone’s butt. It’s also to better one’s self as a person.

Nguyễn Lộc can be considered the Bruce Lee of Vietnam, because Việt Võ Đạo is much like Jeet Kune Do as being a combination of other marital arts that Nguyễn Lộc studied and combined to be more adaptable to the physical structure of the typical Vietnamese man or woman. Việt Võ Đạo has a trademark technique called the Flying Scissors kick.

It’s a little ironic that Việt Võ Đạo is popular in Europe, and especially in France, because Nguyễn Lộc developed Việt Võ Đạo as a means to train Vietnamese youth against French colonialism. Việt Võ Đạo training was not merely for physical resistance against the French, but also for mental and psychological resistance. Việt Võ Đạo was created by Vietnamese for Vietnamese. How Việt Võ Đạo became popular in Europe started from the Vietnamese who immigrated to France and other parts of Europe.

It was invented in a small town of the South Vietnam, Bi`nh Di.nh. It was created for a long long time ago n nobody knew when exactly it was found, but according to my information, it appeared in the old time when vietnam was still dominated by empires. Moreover, not only the men are good at this martial art, but the ladies are also very good at it as well in Bi`nh Di.nh
