Vietnam Open Grand Prix: Takuma Ueda outplays Shesar Hiren Rhustavito in Men’s Singles second round
Japan’s Takuma Ueda was never that aggressive in all of his previous encounters at international stage as compared to his attacking play in Men’s Singles second round when he put up staggering show of top class badminton and crushed Indonesia’s Shesar Hiren
Rhustavito in an emphatic fashion at the Vietnam Open Grand Prix 2012 on Wednesday, August 22, in Vietnam.
The impressive Takuma, who is the sixth seed in main draw of the competition, was in full swing as he shut the mouths of critics by playing to his maximum speed on court and easily wrapped up victory by beating his lower ranked rival quite easily.
The sixth seeded Takuma was pretty confident in executing even difficult shots which gave him an edge over his confused opponent and he ended up this clash in a comfortable fashion by taking just 40 minutes on court.
On the contrary, the un-seeded Indonesian shuttler could not live up to expectations as he was helpless against the speed and perfection of his Japanese opponent and eventually crashed out without taking even a single game from Takuma.
The in-form Takuma was the favourite to win this battle and he did not let his fans down at any stage in the entire first half of opening game as he played with control and precision and easily took a stunning lead until the break.
After the mid-game interval, the higher ranked Takuma continued his inspiring run on court as he took the bird early from all areas and kept his Indonesian challenger moving in all corners of the court.
The aggressive Japanese player remained positive and composed on court and took the opening set with a smashing 21-16 score on the board.
The second game was somewhat interesting when both shuttlers played at the same speed and remained toe-to-toe at the opening stage.
Until the mid-game interval in second set, Takuma changed his tactics and became quick at net which helped him to push his rival on back foot and he managed a reasonable gap until the break.
After the mid-game interval, Takuma continued showing his craft on court and ultimately secured the second set with a convincing 21-15 score on the board.
The passionate Takuma won this Men’s Singles encounter in an inspiring fashion by a superb margin of 21-16 and 21-15.
