  1. dwighthz2002 has the list down pretty good and I would second it.  We will be back in Vietnam in 3 days and can't hardly wait.  My favorite out of the list is Hue, for its history, culture, food and beautiful ancient sites.  Cheers.

  2. I would introduce you other else as followings:

    PHAN THIET

Phan Thiet is the capital town of Binh Thuan province, which is located in the south of the Central Vietnam, 200Km away from Ho Chi Minh city. Phan Thiet is well known for fishing industry and popular fish sauce and a famous name: Mui Ne. Mui Ne is a small town about 24 Km North East from Phan Thiet. Stretching on the long white sandy beach, it is an ideal site for tourists with untouched desolated and primitive beaches, huge the huge golden sand dunes, coconut trees and wonderful resorts. Mui Ne has been the biggest resort area of Vietnam recent years.

  3. These are places that travelers find very interesting from historical and cultural points of view.  In no particular order.

Halong Bay - Scenic, relaxing.  Named a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

Sapa - Northwest of Hanoi.  Usually traveled to by overnight train.  Home to colorful montanyard tribes (Minority peoples)

Hoian - Also a UNESCO World Heritage site.  Known for its tailors.  Close to My Son Cham ruins, Marble Mountain and China Beach.

Cu Chi Tunnels - popular day tour out of Ho Chi Minh City.  "Touristized" tunnels romanticize the life of Viet Cong during wartime Vietnam.

Ho Chi Minh City - Saigon - Entry point for many travelers.  Many museums, markets, restaurants, other tourist attractions.  Very busy.  Home of 8 million people and 4 million motorbikes.

Hanoi - Entry point.  Classic architecture in Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake attract visitors.  Many museums, pagodas/temples and jumping off point for Sapa, Halong Bay and south to rest of Vietnam.  Less busy than Saigon.

Nha Trang - seaside town.  Great seafood restaurants and beach.  This says it all.

Dalat - First major city going north in Central Highlands.  Cool.  Mountain scenery and water falls. Some montanyards.

Hue - Old Imperial Capital.  Many classic palaces and gardens.

Mekong Delta - Scenic.  Transit point for travelers entering or exiting Vietnam via Cambodia by water or land.

If you want to enjoy all these sites properly, allow 3 to 4 weeks of travel in Vietnam.

    Good Luck!

  4. The most popular tour in my mind is the Cao Dai and Chu ChiTunnels http://www.affiliate.viator.com/brochure...   .

These war tunnels once stretched from Saigon to the Cambodian Border.
