Question:

Vietnam holiday advice needed?

I'm 26 and I'm going to Vietnam at the end of August for two weeks with a friend. We're both female, Australians. She's 33. I need some advice about where the MUST GO places are. We generally want to have a fairly relaxing holiday. Any suggestions? We fly in and out of Ho Chi Minh City, but are happy to travel if someone can suggest somewhere good. I personally would love to have a few days lying on a beautiful beach. Good nightlife would be great too!

Thanks in advance.

  1. Everything you require you can find in Nha Trang, its about 45 mins by plane from HCMC,i am no expert on Vietnam, and im sure others will give you good advice.I chose to live here for the nightlife and beautiful beach, also some fantastic seafood restaurants.

  2. nha trang is "little australia" in viet nam. you will love it there. you can spend most of your time there but i'd suggest takeing a plane up to da nang /hoi an [or hue]for 2-3 nights then back to nha trang  for an all nighter at the "sailing club" [a must & you'll have no problem finding it]....but. make sure you get up early at least once in a while . ON THE STREET AT @ 5AM. vn comes alive in the am. here's a good plan. 1 night in sai gon, plane to nha trang. 4 nights in nha trang. plane to da nang/ hoi an. 2 nights there. train to hue 2 nights there . overnight train back to nha trang 3more nights in nha trang then back to sai gon and home.

  3. can i come too?

  4. Go to Vung tau, it's a two hour ride from Saigon.

When you get there, go to Tommy's Bar on the south beach. Talk to the manager, a fellow Aussie called Belly, He's solid gold. He'll give you excellent advice about the area.

    Enjoy !

  5. go to the north if u like beaches & islands

  6. if you like beaches and are in Saigon, then Coco Beach resort is the place for you. It's within driving distance of the city and is located at Mui Noc close to Phan Thiet. I beautiful stretch of golden sand in a wonderful setting. http://www.cocobeach.net/

Someone else mentioned Nha Trang -- just chose your beach carefully, some areas may be prone to discarded needles. Otherwise the city is fun.

Of course the day trip from Saigon to Cu Chi and then the fascinating Cao Dai temple at Tay Ninh is also a must do.

  7. If you go any where in vietnam it would have to be Nha Trang and Ho Chi Minh I am from Vietnam those are the best two places trust me. Ho Chi Minh is the best though they have gorgeous beaches and water parks

Hope i helped and have tons of fun:)

  8. I went to Dalat when I was living in VN. I think it's the most beautiful place in the country.
