  1. Do not forget to Bargain the price :P

  2. I just want to tell you some advice in shopping in Vietnam

    1. Bargain and Bargain as the seller always tell you the price in the sky

    2. Don't buy good at tourist site (very expensive as they have commission for tourguide, driver...)

    3. Don't buy goods at big and luxury supermaket

    4. Buy goods at local market or central markets to get good rate

    Happy traveling

  3. The first answer you received is good.  I think he has covered most everything.  Not sure what type of glasses you are looking for.  If eye glasses there are plenty of shops and they are less than half price in the US.  They are of good quality too.  Have a great time, we always do.  Cheers.

  4. the actual price is 1/4 of what they always tell you....

  5. You should be more specific about where you're going in Vietnam because where to shop will vary between the cities. Odds are that you will be visiting either Saigon or Hanoi. That being the case, here's some suggestions on where to shop:

    Saigon - Ben Thanh Market

This is often called Saigon Market. It is a biizaire type of market with hundreds of vendors under one roof selling everythign you can possibly imagine.

Saigon - Ben Xe Cho Lon

This is another bizairre market like Ben Thanh, but much larger and away from the tourist trap of Ben Thanh. The prices are much better than at Ben Thanh Market. It is located in DIstrict 6 just past the end of Tran Hung Dao Street. Make sure you go with someone who knows their way around or you will end up MIA.

    Ha Noi - Old Quarter

Hundreds of shops selling anything and everything.under the sun. Bring an empty stomache because there is also hundreds of places to eat as well.

Ha Noi - Dong Xuan Market

A bizaire market like Ben Thanh in Saigon located in the old quarter.

You might be disappointed If you are looking specifically for glasses because items not manufactured in or near Vietnam will cost just as much as in America if they're real. There are plenty of counterfeits selling for less than the cost dirt though.

    Good luck!
