  1. All the answers are good answers. I am a Vietnam vet and want to mention that most did not receive a welcome home, they were only known as baby killers. There was nothing like PSD at that time.

  2. Some did, most didn't.

Not much was known about PTSD back in the 1960's and early 1970's.

It wasn't until the late 1970's and early 1980's, that PTSD was recognised officially.

Although alot of veterans with PTSD ended up getting help at the VA, in informal counciling groups.

But nothing like they have today.

  3. I guess us Army vets are SOL, huh ? None of us should ever forgive this country for the way they received all of us back home. The Govt. just wanted us to go away & the civilians were no better, some were much worse. Nothing like going to a counselor that was never in country and basically thought that all 'Nam vets were scum. Welcome Home, my butt!!!

  4. They had the VA and also many Vietnam Vets organizations. The biggest problems where they where called baby killers and spit on by the liberals.
