Question:

Vietnamese communism good?

I always thought, since communism is supposed to take money from the rich and give it to the poor for a classless society, it would be ideal for countries on the poor side like Vietnam. And you know how communist countries always ally with eachother no matter how evil the other countries government is? I don't know of that in Vietnam. In fact, during the khmer rouge tragedy in Cambodia, Vietnam sent troops to fight their communist neighbor. Was this because of the evil genocide or was it from other interests??? From people with experience in this subject, has communism treated the Vietnamese good? Is it "ideal"? Or does it make life hard? Is the government abusive? Does it tolerate religion? Are the people on a "short leash" aka "ball and chain"? Does the government give money to the poor lower class like it's SUPOSED to? What is it like?

  1. Vietnamese communism does not allow people to propagandise democratic principles and that person would be assumed as a reactionary. Vietnam has One -party political system makes it difficult to have check and balance system.

  2. yes, it is good. and i really don't know why there are some stupic ones thought that VN invaded Campodia. Maybe they lived in wood and never go to school. Poor

  3. Wow! No way! Vietnamese communism is not good at all! It's horrible! I'm viet and I learned about this all my my ancestors and parents. Guess what? Vietnamese communists would force every men they could find to fight on their side. And, they would always come to houses to get money, sort of like taxes, and if they found any books opposing them, or American books, or hidden money, your whole family would die! Does that sound good to you?

  4. Go to Vietnam.  Stand in a street in the middle of Hanoi or Saigon and hoist the sign "Communism sucks".  See how long you can stand there.  Here you can stand in front of the White House with the sign "Bush sucks" and nobody can arrest you.

  5. Vietnam sent troops to Cambodia because the genocide. The khmer rouge was killing people of chinese, vietnamese and thai and other that was mix and not mix. I think vietnam invaded them because they were killing vietnamese.

I been to vietnam and the communism is kind of good. The communism government in vietnam don't give money to poor people. I saw them and they were begging for food and money. The government is not abusive unless you broke a major law. They tolerat religion.

  6. I don't know if communism is good or not but I've been in Vietnam for over a year and most of the people I know seem pretty happy and have confidence in their future especially with their entry into WTO. It's quite a populous country  with many problems but I don't think the government is not doing anything to try to improve people's lives. I think the country is at a stage where bread and butter issues are more important than other issues like freedom of speech and other rights that more developed countries often talk about. What I do see is that Vietnamese are by and large very tolerant and accomodating towards foreigners. They don't complain about everything and take everything in their stride. What I do find in more developed countries are people trying to exert pressure on others to be

"politically correct" on matters big and small and this,to me, is more stifling than being in a communist country.

  7. You are way off.  Name a communist country that contributes anything to the world?  Anything?  The average North Korean exists on $1,000 per year.  The N. Korean communist dictator spent over $800,000 last year on his favorite Cognac.  Communist regimes exist to steal from the people.
