Viewpoint tipped to cause an upset in £150,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Cup
Viewpoint has got a solid chance of bringing up his maiden victory in the £150,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Cup at Newmarket in England on Saturday, June 30, 2012. The winner of the class-2 event will bag a cash prize of £81,150.
The track conditions will be good in the 1 mile 2 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 14:00 GMT. Although there are some very good runners lined up for action at Newmarket, there is a possibility that Viewpoint causes an upset. He has no victories to his name, which will discourage the punters from risking money on him, but that does not rule him out completely.
From the bookies’ point of view, the three-year-old colt does not have the best chance of finishing at the top. He has been given a general starting price of 25 to 1, which means that he is expected to finish below the top three.
However, the good ground will suit the running style of the Richard Hannon’s trainee, who is carrying a decent momentum right now. He has only taken part in three events and has given mixed performances in them.
On his debut outing, the Exceed And Excel’s son out of Lady´s View was unable to get the attention of anyone, as he finished seventh out of 18 runners. His performance was average, but he was expected to improve with the passage of time.
However, no improvement was shown by the Irish runner in his second race, as he finished eighth in it. His trainer did not give up hope though and his hard work finally paid off in the Jill and Clive’s Silver Anniversary Maiden Stakes, where Viewpoint secured a career best runner up position.
The young colt proved that his stamina was his strength, thus he will be a good choice for the bettors today. He will be partnered by veteran rider, Richard Hughes, who has got an impressive record and has been delivering some decent results over the past few months.
On the other hand, Michelangelo has earned the confidence of the bookies for this race. He has only participated in a couple of events, winning one of them and finishing third in the other.
