Vijay Mallya says Force India have better car this year as compared to 2010 – Formula 1 news
Force India team principal Vijay Mallya has said that they have a better car in the 2011 Formula 1 season as compared to 2010.
Mallya also mentioned that they have made more developments in their VJM04 car for the 2011 Belgium Grand Prix, taking place on August 28, 2011 at Spa-Francorchamps.
The team principal compared his current year’s F1 car with the last season and stated that the 2010 car was fast on straights, but the VJM04 car is strong in all areas of the race circuits.
Mallya commented, “It was hard to imagine we would be in this position after our slow start to the year, but I never stopped believing. When you consider how competitive Formula 1 is, everyone in the team can be proud of where we are.”
He went on to mention, “We're well aware there is much hard work ahead to maintain this and we still have a big task facing us in the constructors' championship. But following the August break we come back refreshed and ready to deliver again this weekend.”
The Force India principal discussed the performance of their car in the ongoing season and mentioned that it seems to be competitive on the grid from the last couple of races. Both the drivers, Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta are moving in the right direction
in their cars from the last few races of the season.
Both the drivers are successfully scoring points for the team since the 2011 German Grand Prix. Other than that, they are also looking forward towards their positive end to the ongoing season.
After racing in 11 rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season, the team driver di Resta is at the 16th place with eight points in the drivers’ championship, while his teammate Sutil is sitting at the 12th position
with 18 points in the title fight.
All the F1 teams are ready to perform on the grid in the last stages of the ongoing season after coming back from the one-month break.
Let’s see how Force India manage their race in the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix following their positive results in the last couple of races.
